About Me
I am an Assistant Professor (professor of practice) in the Department of Advertising and Public Relations at the Michigan State University (MSU). Prior to rejoining MSU, I was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication and Journalism at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (UWEC). I taught undergraduate courses in different formats: in person, synchronous and asynchronous. I also direct an Education Abroad Program titled "International Advertising in China," offering students the opportunity to blend academic learning with practical experience in one of the world’s most dynamic markets.
I was a Marketing Manager of A Plus International Culture Communication Inc., where I was responsible for managing relationship and seeking collaboration opportunities with local organizations to develop international cultural exchange program and teacher training program. Before came to U.S., I have interned at Beijing Media Network as a journalist and program designer for many years.
I am a researcher. I love conducting quantitative and qualitative research to understand target audience and developing data-driven strategies. I am also an educator. I am a big believer of bridging the gap between education and practice. I am a strong learner. I am passionate about learning new things. People use “persistence”, “optimist”, and “curiosity” to describe me.
